Mha Puja, which means the worship of oneself, is an important tradition of the Newar community that celebrates life, promotes self-respect and embraces new beginnings. Through this cultural celebration, students learned about the values, beliefs and traditions deeply rooted in Newari heritage.
The programme was organised with the wonderful support and participation of parents and members of the Khokana Newar community, who helped students experience the rituals and cultural practices firsthand.
At Gyanodaya, we believe that education extends beyond classrooms and textbooks. Connecting students with their cultural roots, encouraging respect for traditions and passing on valuable cultural knowledge are integral to nurturing responsible and culturally aware generations.
The celebration reflected the school's commitment to preserving cultural heritage while making learning meaningful, engaging and experiential.
Celebrating our roots. Honouring our identity. Inspiring the next generation.
